In 2005 (a terrible year), I posted politics and sports and local-news stuff on a Blogger.com domain. In 2006 I threw it away. The only available way to archive it (apparently), was to pull up all the posts in a single window and
Save As. I’ve had that HTML file and an images folder squirreled away in a subfolder for 13 years.
This weekend I used node.js and a handful of regular expressions to break apart the HTML file into 150+ markdown files. Then I deleted dozens and dozens of posts, mostly political but also just generally cringe-worthy, and published the rest.
What remains is largely dead-links and irrelevant junk. Sounds about right.
