I’m listening to a computer security podcast and they are hypothesizing that the Pinellas County water utility attack was by a disgruntled employee.

I think it will turn out to be a current employee’s preteen, goofing around on his dad’s computer.

Since I can't rely on my laptop being always-open, I've moved a "pull and build" cron job to my server, which is where it should've been all along -- now I don't need the rsync part at all. I just build my 11ty site "in place" where the server expects it. Downsides? TBD.

Dumb meme that made me laugh just now on Tumblr... mash up the last TV show you watched and the last video game you played... I get "Taskmaster Golf," which... actually sounds fun! Like an updated version of The Incredible Machine or something? 🤣

Cool and clear this morning in N. Florida... T mentioned last night that she thinks it's the end of "winter" here, temps going back up and probably not coming back down until New Years'. 😅

The main theme to the 80s arcade game "Paperboy" is as close as videogame music ever got to Steely Dan.

Misguided we-must-protect-the-children! EXPLICIT labelling on pop music proves weirdly useful 30 years after its introduction as a rough proxy for “this isn't the artist the algorithm thinks you want.”

(I'll stop griping about this when (a) I see new music from Wire & its the Wire I expect, or (b) I quit Spotify. One of these is coming up sooner than the other.)

Random things:

(a) twitch.tv has been spotlighting Black creators in their main carousel the last few days for BHM and I've found a couple of new retro-gamers to follow. 🆒

(b) note-to-self: cron jobs on your laptop don't run when your laptop is closed, you utter dummy. 🤯 I'm going to have to move this whole workflow to my Linode server maybe?

(c) have just tweaked my instance of Indiekit to call it tags instead of category in the frontmatter. ✅
